Privacy Policy

1. Who I am
Canoe is operated by Quiet Practice LLC, a Colorado limited liability company doing business as Canoe ("Canoe," "I," "me"). This policy explains how I collect, use, and protect personal information through my website at withcanoe.co and the studio services I provide. I am based in Colorado, United States.
Questions about this policy or your information can be sent to hello@withcanoe.co.
2. Information you provide
I collect information you choose to give me, including:
- Inquiries. Your name, email address, and the contents of any message when you email me or reach out through the site.
- Discovery bookings. When you book a discovery call, my scheduling provider (Cal.com) collects your name, email, and the details you enter on the booking form.
- Client intake. Clients who have signed a service agreement complete an intake form. These submissions can include detailed information about your practice, business operations, and the people you serve. I use this only to deliver the work you have engaged me for.
- Agreement signing. When you sign a service agreement electronically, I record your name, email address, IP address, and the date and time of signing as a record of the agreement.
3. Information collected automatically
I use privacy-friendly analytics (Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights) that measure aggregate, non-identifying site usage and do not use cookies. My hosting provider also keeps standard server logs, which may include IP addresses and basic request data, for security and reliability.
4. Payment information
Payments are processed by Stripe. I do not collect or store full payment card numbers. Stripe handles card data under its own security standards and privacy policy.
5. How I use information
- To respond to your inquiries and schedule calls.
- To deliver, operate, and support the services you engage me for.
- To send transactional email related to your project or agreement.
- To maintain, secure, and improve the website.
- To meet my legal and accounting obligations.
6. How I share information
I do not sell your personal information. I share it only with the service providers that help me operate, each acting on my behalf and under its own privacy commitments:
| Provider | Purpose | Privacy policy |
|---|---|---|
| Vercel | Website hosting and cookieless analytics | vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy |
| Neon | Database hosting for intake and project records | neon.tech/privacy-policy |
| Stripe | Payment processing | stripe.com/privacy |
| Resend | Transactional email delivery | resend.com/legal/privacy-policy |
| Cal.com | Discovery call scheduling | cal.com/privacy |
I may also disclose information if required by law, to enforce my agreements, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of Canoe, my clients, or others.
7. Data retention
I keep personal information for as long as needed to provide my services, maintain business and accounting records, and meet legal requirements. Client project records are retained for the duration of the engagement and a reasonable period afterward. You can ask me to delete information that I am not required to keep.
8. Data security
I use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so I cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, including under the Colorado Privacy Act and similar state laws, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information I hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate information.
- Delete your information, subject to legal exceptions.
- Receive a portable copy of information you provided.
- Opt out of the sale of personal information or targeted advertising. I do neither.
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@withcanoe.co. I will respond within the time required by law. If you are a Colorado resident and I decline your request, you may appeal by replying to my decision, and I will respond to your appeal.
10. Where your data is processed
Canoe is based in the United States, and the information I collect is processed in the United States.
11. Children's privacy
My website and services are not directed to children, and I do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
